"Golf has always been a part of my life–whether it was going to the range and watching my father practice as early as seven years old, volunteering at a golf nonprofit, or playing for my high school golf team.

Something that always amazed me throughout the years was how elaborately designed the courses were, from the way they weaved across the terrain to how the many obstacles were set up to provide a fun but challenging experience. However, it was only until I started high school that I began to wonder about the intentions of the course architects. Why did they choose to make this hole so steep? Why did they place this body of water here?

My interest narrowed significantly when I took AP Environmental Science in my junior year of high school, as I became more curious about environmental and energy conservation.

I knew golf courses used a lot of water and energy to maintain the quality of the turfgrass. So, I asked the question. What has been done to make golf courses more eco-friendly, and what can be done? What can I do to be a part of this process?

Spurred by my desire to pursue environmental engineering in college, I developed this website to be an educational hub that focuses on the intersection between golf and the environment. Beyond my interest in the environment, I’ve also found ways, through golf, to give back to the community, so I wanted to spotlight those opportunities as a way to encourage younger golfers to give back.

Ultimately, it's my desire to show that golf can be a fun and accessible sport for all while still being mindful of our surroundings. "
